Nextspace 3D combined with Cesium terrain and map tilesets, all rendered in Unreal Engine

Here's a glimpse into our progress on an Epic Unreal Engine publishing capability for Nextspace. This work has largely been made possible by the Epic Mega Grant we received from Epic Games.

This video teaser shows the real-time streaming of attributed Nextspace 3D models combined with Cesium terrain and map tilesets, all rendered in Unreal Engine. The result is photo-realistic performance at interactive game speed. This brings the world of AR/VR Holo-Tables and MR together with real live business and IoT data. And allows you to add in all that BIM GIS and scanning data as well!

With regards the video... while this may look like any number of flythroughs, there are a number of important differences that will become more apparent as we add more UI at the player end.

Firstly the model is being streamed live from the Bruce AWS cloud service, The 3D terrain and map of the world is streaming live from Cesium servers, but higher accuracy models locally scanned data can be streamed from the Nextspace servers, including BIM, GIS, Point cloud and photogrammetry data. That means changes to any of this data can be done from multiple sources and applications by multiple users with appropriate permissions.

Also the model itself is broken down into individual components that are also linked to all the document, attribution, metadata and business information, all stored in Nextspace, about each component or “thing”.  Again data updated by users or even IoT will be able to be seen live on the model as soon as we get to that UI work (nearly there and that will make a great new video).

Communication of complexity in a simple effective visual way has never been more compelling and exiting. This applies to planning designing, operating and maintain functions across the while lifecycle of utilities, plant and process sites, factories, cities and more. All connected with real data from multiple source systems. Add in some AI and analytics for a truly compelling Digital Twin recipe!
